While in New Orleans for the NABJ convention I had the pleasure of watching a film before it goes mainstream on television.

Actress Tasha Smith this time is behind the scenes directing the movie "When Love Kills: The Falicia Blakely Story." The movie is based off a true story and premieres Monday night (08/28/17) on TV One at 9pm/8c.

The main character of "When Love Kills" Falicia played by Niatia 'Lil Mama' Kirkland, is a teen mom and stripper from Atlanta who finds her way into the wrong type of lifestyle due to falling for the wrong type of man. A man that was all about drugs and guns. Dino played by Lance Gross continues to feed Falicia broken promises. Eventually Dino turns her into a pawn within his dangerous life forcing her to prove her love for him at the expense of others innocent lives.

While watching the movie you will see the acting skills of boxer Floyd Mayweather who this past weekend fought for the record of being 50 - 0 undefeated. Other guest stars include Lil Zane and Big Freedia.

Extended Trailer

There will be an encore of the movie at 11 pm.

It's been 5 years since the death of pop singer Whitney Houston. Whitney passed away in 2012. She was an influence on many individuals both young and old.

Then 48 year old, Whitney passed away in Beverly Hilton hotel, she was found drowning in the bathtub of her room after overdosing.

The iconic pop star had a huge impact on pregnant R&B singer Ciara. She found out about her greatest influencers' death while getting ready to attend an annual party hosted by producer Clive Davis. The party went on as planned and the entire night was dedicated to Whitney Houston.

Since Whitney has made a huge impact on the R&B star Ciara on Saturday created a tribute video which went viral on Instagram. The clip displays Ciara dancing and lip-syncing to Whitney's popular hit "I'm Every Woman" from The Bodyguard soundtrack.

The video clip shows a quick cameo appearance of Ciara's husband and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson as well as he 2 and 1/2 year old son Future Zahir.

In 2012, Ciara on 106 & Park said "her legacy will live on forever and if I can do anything in my power, I will continue to let my generation know about her."
